About Me

Thrifty finds, DIY, and a soon to be Home Reno...

Welcome!

I love to find cheaper ways to do expensive things. Whether this be through Thrift-store-shopping or DIY decorating, I find a way to get it done. I NEVER shop in the regular priced area of a store. If I do happen to see something I love that is regular priced, I wait til it goes on sale. OR, i make it my own version of it. I love to paint and do crafts. However, being a mother of two and a night-shift nurse, I have very little time to do it. We are also in a rental home while we search for my forever home. So, I am LOVING the blog world right now as I find ideas for my new home. Be sure to follow me so I will know I'm not just blogging to myself. :-)

Anxiously Awaiting...

So, tomorrow morning is our big anatomy ultrasound day. I am excited to see the sex of our baby (if leg position permits). But, also, I am prayerful that everything looks normal. It seems like I have read more and more about perinatal complications and death. And, quite frankly, I work around it and see it in person. So, needless to say, I am a basketcase this pregnancy.

I feel great! I am feeling the little one move around, which is one of the things I missed most about being pregnant. And, am so excited about the entire experience. If you read this, please say a prayer for normal results tomorrow. I can truly say that a healthy baby is all that matters. With that said...people have asked, "Do you have a feeling on what you are having?" Up until a couple of weeks ago, I felt like I was having a girl. Now, not so sure. After the ultrasound, I will elaborate more on that :)

On another note...we spent last week at the beach with Neil's family. We had 25 people total at Seagrove Beach with us. 15 in our house alone! It was great! We ate ALOT and had LOTS of fun! The night after we got there, LM had diarreah (one episode). So, we thought, hmmm, something she ate. Two nights later...the big V. YUCK. Nothing like staying up all night at the beach with your 3 year old puking. Bless her little heart. Two nights later, D again. Then, cough, congestion, low grade fever, and just a terrible feeling and acting little girl. We adjusted. Neil was incredible. He volunteered to spend time at the house during nap time and fussy time. I can't say enough how wonderful he was and in turn how he made our trip (which could have turned disasterous) just as wonderful.

Here are a few pics from the beach...

LONG time no post

I figure I better get my blog up and running again w/ baby #2 on the way. I've been getting inspired by all of you faithful bloggers and to be honest...i'm feelin a little guilty for my negligence.

So, what's new with the Morton clan? Hmm, let's see... I'm 16 weeks pregnant with baby #2. We have our anatomy US on July 31. And, YES, we are absolutely gonna find out what it is. I can't imagine not finding out! Lanie Mae is very excited about becoming a big sister. She doesn't get it 100% yet. But, boy, will she get it when the baby gets here. She will be almost 3 1/2 when the baby arrives. I really do feel like she will be a great big sister. Her favorite pastime is playing babydolls and she is so nurturing. So, after the initial shock (a.k.a. WORLD ROCKIN'), I feel like she will be fine.

We leave Saturday for a week (a full 7 DAYS!) at the beach. We go every year with Neil's family. But, we didn't go last year and have NEVER been able go for the entire week. We are both ecstatic! The packing stresses me a little. But, it will be worth it.

Well, I'm not gonna promise that I will be the best blogger. But, I do promise to post more than once every six months :-) Have a great week next week. I'll talk to you guys when we return to reality!

We also now have a camper. So, from time to time, I may post some camping pics. This is from Peavine Falls at Oak Mountain State Park.
